Testimonials

Below are some of the many testimonials we have received for our garden design, landscaping and maintenance services

Kim has undertaken projects for the group for the past 10 years, during which time her experience and expertise in planting has been a major contributor to our success; achieving numerous Golds regionally and nationally.

Mavis Warman, Newquay In Bloom Partnership (NIBP)

I would recommend Kim to anyone who appreciates a very professional and knowledgeable service.

Teresa Frost (Area Surveyor Cormac Ltd)

Kim has produced a number of landscaping schemes using her knowledge and passion of plants to enhance the environment for which we are responsible. These included formal gardens, cliff top open spaces, parks, highway verges and roundabouts. She is always willing to share her ideas and knowledge to produce and promote the best scheme, based on the budget, the individual circumstances, maintenance requirements and location.
Bob & Annette Egerton, Trevillick House, Grampound)

We moved into our house in Grampound in 2001 and were faced with the problem of turning a concrete farmyard into a garden. We were delighted with the finished scheme. Fifteen years on, the design has stood the test of time and we would not have done anything different. The planting has also been a great success. We would recommend Kim.
Cllr Kevin Towill, Honourable Mayor of Newquay

Over the past few years Kim Parish has been a cornerstone of the enhancement & landscaping of our town. Her creative and logistical support has proved invaluable to the Newquay. Kim has also proved a great asset.
Tracy Wilson MBE, Horticultural Consultant

In the 18 years I have worked with Kim professionally in the horticultural industry, it has always been very clear that she has a passion for plants and is keen to keep up-to-date with new introductions and to consider their garden worthiness. Her work with the public parks and spaces within Cornwall has taken them through a difficult transition period and made them better places. One of the most refreshing aspects of working alongside Kim is her constant willingness to learn; she will always research your subject thoroughly to ensure that you are giving the best possible information to the task in hand, and she is always happy to take advice from colleagues; a rare trait indeed.
David Eyles, President of Newquay in Bloom

In its early years Newquay in Bloom was essentially an organisation encouraging local people to garden. In 1984 the Group participated in the SW In Bloom Competition and achieved a ‘Certificate of Achievement’, sadly that was the height of its achievement for the next nineteen years. In 2004 the Group changed into a partnership in order to bring the local Authority on board and it was at that juncture that I met Kim Parish. It was immediately obvious that here was a lady who had not only trained in horticulture and was therefore knowledgeable in the advice she gave, but she also had the great ability to pass on her knowledge and enthusiasm to others and encourage them to aim for higher and better things. As a result the Partnership has gone from ‘Certificate of Achievement’ to Bronze; to Silver; to Silver Gilt and finally Gold in the competition. It has subsequently represented the South West in the Britain in Bloom Competition where it also won Gold! However, over and above these achievements, it has encouraged a huge number of local groups to participate. None of this would have been possible without Kim. Her knowledge, her enthusiasm, her encouragement – not to mention her ‘hands on’ involvement – has transformed Newquay’s image in the ‘In Bloom’ world and has played a significant part in improving tourism in this part of Cornwall. I have no doubt that anyone who seeks her advice will receive the same level of expertise and commitment and I highly recommend her talents to anyone within the horticultural sphere.
Mike Rowe – Service Improvement Manager, Ocean Housing Limited.

I worked for Ocean Housing Limited in the post of Housing Manager since 2000 and my duties included responsibility for the monitoring of the contract to maintain the communal areas of over 200 housing estates. Kim worked for the contractor employed to carry out the work and her horticultural expertise was particularly valuable in the assessment of landscaping plans for new developments. Her experience and knowledge ensured that new sites where established as attractive, low maintenance schemes that provided good quality environments for residents to live in, while being straight forward and economic to maintain.I found her to be a professional, diligent and committed worker, paying particular attention to the detail of each landscaping plan submitted to her and often going ‘the extra mile’ to ensure that all plans were suitably implemented. I would strongly recommend her horticultural services.Ocean has worked with Kim on a number of schemes to ensure all quality control and long-term maintenance issues with our landscaped areas are addressed within our completed New Build development schemes.I have enjoyed working with Kim and we have found her experience and expertise in this area extremely helpful.
Anthony Bassett, Ocean Housing

I have worked with Kim for nearly ten years. She has always been assiduous in her approach to her work and been very artistic but realistic in style. Projects worked on together include the replanting of the large islands at Trenance Boating Lake , the borders, hanging baskets and spring bulb area of Chester Road and more recently the large Newquay Town Council funded Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Border near the Rose Garden at Trenance Gardens.Kim can be relied upon to do a first class job, within budget, and on time. I have no hesitation in recommending her to any future client. I have enjoyed working with Kim and we have found her experience and expertise in this area extremely helpful.
